Collection of Lovers

I meet with unknown people in unknown apartments and together we take at least a photo that proves an intimacy.

Until 2020, I’ve collected 261 lovers, between Lisbon, Ponta Delgada, Rio de Janeiro, Loulé, Minde, Paredes de Coura, Sever do Vouga, Ovar, Manaus, Barreiro, Bergen, Stavanger, Oslo, Warsaw, Cincinnati, Portland, Guimarães, Viana do Castelo, Covilhã, Santiago do Chile, Buenos Aires, Angra do Heroísmo, Genebra, Dro, Dublin, Montpellier, Lima and Cusco.

People of all nationalities, genders, ages, social and political backgrounds.

Secrets, revelations, provocations and many questions: If a lover is the one who loves, what’s love then? Can intimacy be listed, described or dissected? What does an image keep? What would change if it was a man collecting lovers? And what is intimacy?

This Collection is presented in a show, a book, exhibitions, conferences, it reveals itself as infinite in its many unfoldings.
